TARDA PARTICIPATES AS STRATEGIC PARTNER AT LANDMARK PPP SYMPOSIUM.
Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority , led by the Managing Director Mr. Liban Roba, was honored to participate in a High-Level #PPPSymposium convened by the National Treasury’s Public Private Partnerships (PPP) Directorate in Nairobi.
This high-profile event, presided over by the Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury, brought together Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Heads of State Agencies, County Government representatives, development partners among other players in the space together and provided them with an opportunity to build trust in the PPP framework by championing transparency, fostering leadership engagement, and ensuring open, clear communication on processes and opportunities. The event also spotlighted a new pipeline of bankable PPP projects ready for implementation, signaling tangible progress and inviting private sector participation. Above all, it strengthened the spirit of collaboration between the public and private sectors, setting the stage for faster, more impactful uptake of PPPs across the country.
For TARDA, the symposium was an invaluable platform to position our strategic Agri-Industrial projects within the national PPP agenda. It allowed direct engagement with potential investors, financiers and technical partners on our flagship Tana Delta projects—the Tana Delta Irrigation Project (TDIP), the Tana Integrated Sugar Project (TISP), and the BETA Feedlots—all currently under structuring in partnership with the PPP Directorate.
Participation in this forum not only deepened TARDA’s alignment with the Government’s infrastructure financing priorities but also advanced conversations on attracting private sector investment into projects that will transform agriculture in the Tana Delta, enhance food security, create jobs, and build climate resilience. By leveraging the visibility and networks from this event, TARDA is better positioned to move its PPP pipeline towards bankability and implementation.
