ENHANCING CLIMATE SMART FOOD AND WATER SECURITY PROGRAMME FOR SMALL FARM HOLDER COMMUNITIES WITHIN TARDA REGION
Overall Objective: To promote sustainable and effective use of natural resources, enhance access to water, improved farming and water management practices among small farm holder communities in the TARDA region.
Expected outputs:
- Ten (10) gravity water systems designed and installed to serve 50,000 households.
- 100 hydraulic rams designed and installed in the middle zone to serve 10,000 households.
- 50 improved subsurface water dams designed and constructed in the middle zone for water supply and small scale irrigation to serve 50,000 households.
- 20 integrated community smallholder irrigation projects established.
- Three (3) integrated beef processing plants with a total capacity of 10.8 tonnes per day established.
- 50,000 Ltrs of milk per day integrated Milk processing plant established.
- Five (5) micro-processing plants for value-addition of farm produce established.
- Five (5) aquaculture and mari-culture technology innovation transfer and demonstration centres established
