Honey

Honey production is a major occupation for people living in arid and semi-arid regions where about three quarters of TARDA’s area of jurisdiction falls within the ASALs.

Kiambere Honey Refinery established in 1988 by TARDA provides the farming community from the middle and lower reaches of the Tana and Athi River Basins (Kitui, Meru, Machakos, Tharaka-nithi, Embu and Makueni Counties) with a guaranteed all year-round ready market for their raw honey which is than processed and packaged.

TARDA honey is packaged in different jar sizes:100gms, 300gms ,500gms as well as 1 kg.
