TARDA AT THE NATIONAL CARBON OFFSETTING WORKSHOP | BUILDING A RESILIENT, CLIMATE-SMART FUTURE
Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority joined key stakeholders at a Carbon Offsetting Training convened by the State Department for ASALs and Regional Development, in collaboration with #Namati and Indigenous Movement for Peace Advancement and Conflict Transformation IMPACT_KENYA.

The workshop brought together experts from government, development partners, academia, community representatives, and civil society organizations to deepen understanding of; climate change policy and implementation frameworks;carbon markets and carbon offsetting models in Kenya ;land rights, community safeguards, and the role of indigenous knowledge ;opportunities for ASAL-based communities to participate in carbon value chains and practical models that align carbon finance with grassroots development

TARDA’s participation reinforces our commitment to scaling nature-based solutions, strengthening climate governance and ensuring communities within the Tana and Athi Basins benefit from emerging climate finance opportunities. As we move forward, TARDA will continue championing partnerships, science-led action, and climate-smart investments that protect our ecosystems while enhancing local livelihoods.
