TANA DELTA IRRIGATION PROJECT – RICE (TDIP – R)
Overall Objective: To enhance quality of life through sustainable utilization and environmental protection, food security and revenue generation in the Lower Tana River Basin.
Expected outputs:
- 5,000ha of irrigated estate rice production
- 5 tonnes per hour capacity of rice mill rehabilitated.
- 30,000 tonnes of white rice produced annually.
- 8 villages of 1,662 households with a population of 8,593 provided with access to water for domestic livestock and food production.
- 7,000 employment opportunities created.
