DRIVING BASIN TRANSFORMATION THROUGH STRATEGIC GLOBAL PARTNERSHIPS.
Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority under the leadership of its Managing Director Mr. Liban Roba was honored to participate in the Belgian Business Mission to Kenya, a high-level engagement, bringing together over 30 Belgian companies exploring strategic investments across Kenya’s priority sectors. The Mission was opened by H.E. Peter Maddens, Ambassador of Belgium to Kenya, alongside senior leadership from the State Department of Foreign Affairs in Kenya.
The mission provided a platform for development agenda discussions anchored in real economic opportunities. For TARDA, these engagements went beyond formal exchanges. They were targeted conversations on unlocking value in:
Climate-resilient water infrastructure
Smart irrigation systems and agricultural productivity
Green energy and hydropower optimization
Geo-intelligence, flood management, and basin mapping technologies
This direct interaction with the Belgian firms advancing innovation in water management, navigation technologies, hydraulics and environmental engineering affirmed a clear signal that the global market is ready for bold, scalable basin projects—and the Tana and Athi basins are well-positioned for that growth.
As TARDA marks #50Years of driving integrated regional development, we remain committed to partnerships that deliver impact—commercially, socially, and environmentally. This is how we build a future-proof basin economy—one strategic collaboration at a time.
