A MILESTONE FOR SUSTAINABLE MINERAL EXPLORATION IN THE TANA BASIN
On 29th January 2025, TARDA and the National Mining Corporation (NAMICO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that sets the stage for responsible mineral exploration within the Tana Basin. This collaboration is driven by a shared commitment to sustainable resource management, environmental protection, and economic empowerment for local communities.
The TARDA Team at the meeting was led by Managing Director Mr. Liban Roba while NAMICO Team were led by Board Chairman Hon. Joseph Lagat accompanied by Ag. Chief Executive Officer Mr. Paul Mwadime.
This partnership is a significant step toward unlocking the economic value of the Tana Basin’s mineral resources while upholding principles of environmental conservation and responsible land management. By leveraging TARDA’s expertise in resource stewardship and NAMICO’s technical capacity in mineral exploration, we are paving the way for informed, well-regulated, and community-centric development.
