A LANDMARK BOREHOLE PROJECT FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
16Th January 2025 marked a pivotal moment for the residents of Kokona Village, Garsen Constituency, as we officially launched the Kokona Community Borehole Project. The event, presided over by Cabinet Secretary for The National Treasury and Economic Planning, Hon. CPA John Mbadi Ng’ongo, EGH, brought together leaders, stakeholders, and the community to celebrate this transformative initiative.
The TARDA Team at the launch were led by Managing Director Mr. Liban Roba who received the Cabinet Secretary at the Borehole Site.
The Kokona Borehole Project, a flagship under the National Drought Mitigation Programme (DMP), is designed to provide clean water to 300 households and 1,800 livestock. This is not just an achievement in infrastructure but a significant step toward restoring dignity and fostering resilience in drought-prone areas.
This borehole, complete with a solar-powered pumping system, elevated steel tank, water kiosks, and reticulation network, symbolizes what can be achieved when partnerships and purpose align. The journey doesn’t end here; TARDA remains committed to identifying and addressing critical needs across Kenya to ensure sustainable and impactful development.
