PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEE ON REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT VISITS TANA DELTA IRRIGATION PROJECT: A STEP FORWARD FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.
Parliament of Kenya National Assembly Committee on Regional Development visited the Tana Delta Irrigation Project to oversee ongoing rehabilitation efforts and assess progress on infrastructure for food security, water management and regional resilience. The Committee, led by Chair MP, Sigor Hon. Peter Lochakapong’ were received by the Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority Managing Director Mr. Liban Roba at the Project. The Committee’s mandate includes evaluating how well such projects align with Kenya’s broader goals of sustainable regional development and national economic stability. The committee’s visit underscores its commitment to monitoring not only infrastructure but also the project’s alignment with broader policies around resource sustainability, community development, and disaster resilience.
