The FY 2024/25 Budget Policy Statement to the Departmental Committee On Regional Development.
On 22nd February 2024 the Ministry of East African Community, the ASALs and Regional Development led by Cabinet Secretary Hon. Peninah Malonza together with State Department For The Asals And Regional Development led by PS Kello Harsama presented the State Department’s Brief on The FY 2024/25 Budget Policy Statement to the Departmental Committee On Regional Development. During the session, the Ministry delved into the core policies underpinning expenditure ceilings, highlighted priority projects including the impactful #BETA initiatives and outlined performance targets aligned with our commitment to driving progress. As the Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority, we were also present during the crucial briefing session led by Managing Director, Mr. Liban Roba where we made submissions aimed at shaping the trajectory of regional development and sustainable growth alongside Kerio Valley Development Authority, Lake Basin Development Authority, Ewaso Ngiro South River Basin Development Authority, Ewaso Ng’iro North Dev. Authority, Coast Development Authority Page as well as NDMA Kenya. The meeting was also an opportunity for insights into the Ministry’s FY 2023/24 financial and non-financial performance to be provided, ensuring transparency and accountability in our operations. Such briefings are critical in fostering commitment to regional development, advancing community welfare and propelling our nation towards a brighter future.
