TARDA WINS BIG AT THE EASTERN KENYA BRANCH SHOW
The Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority team had an impressive outing at the recently-concluded Agricultural Society of Kenya’s Eastern Kenya Branch Show that ran from 20th July to 22nd July 2023 at the Njukiri Showground in Embu County.
TARDA Team emerged as the Best Stand in Water and Waste Water Services Category, while also scooping 2nd Position in the Best Innovation and Invention Stand as well as the Best agro-processing Stand and 3rd Position in Best Government Social Function Stand, Best Stand in Youth Activities, Empowerment and Capacity as well as the Best Large Trade Stand (Commercial & Industrial) and Best Local Manufacturers (Consumables) categories respectively. The celebrations were led by our Board Director Madam Maureen Nyabochoa who paid a courtesy call at the TARDA Stand during the Show.
The theme of the Show was “Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth”, and it attracted over 70 Exhibitors from sectors such as Agriculture, Manufacturing, Housing, Small and Medium Enterprises, Banking, Public and Private Sector Institutions, Hospitality and Education with a host of new technologies and innovations on display.
The Shows’ key role is to promote agricultural excellency, provide forums for dissemination of information, embrace innovation, research and technology and encourage formation with partnerships with stakeholders countrywide. The Show also serves to accentuate the importance of adopting climate smart initiatives in agriculture and trade in line with the adopted theme.
The Embu Show will continue to provide an important focal point for sharing critical knowledge as well as advanced technologies within the County and its environs, in line with the National Government’s agenda on agriculture and trade.
