CONSERVATION AND REHABILITATION OF RIPARIAN AND BUFFER ZONES OF MASINGA AND KIAMBERE MULTIPURPOSE RESERVOIRS
Overall Objective: To conserve the catchments, buffer zone and riparian areas of Kiambere and Masinga reservoirs to ensure continuous water flow through the Seven Forks Dams for sustainable Hydro-power generation and Tana River flow regulation.

- 850 no. Gabions constructed.
- 125 Km of Terraces laid.
- 750 water pans and 600 Check dams constructed.
- 3,000Ha afforested and reforested.
- Three (3) TARDA nurseries refurbished and 40 community tree nurseries established.
- 10,000,000 assorted seedlings produced.
- Capacity building & training to 40 community groups on value addition carried out.
- 20 Green parks and tourism circuits for revenue and conservation benefits operationalized.
- 120,000 Jobs created.
